Cardboard, duct tape, beeswax, graphite. 2023
Individual forms converge into an assemblage, twist, bend, pinch, and squash. The subconscious arises on the choice and the act of reusing materials. A cardboard exoskeleton is tied with duck-tape and coated with melted beeswax. The four layers of wax produced a dynamic texture. A final graphite surface hugs the melted wax resulting on an opaque/shiny, rough and smooth texture, evocative of coral, yoga poses, human and animal figures.
Thirty items on series that vary in size from 7x7x5 to 17x16x16 inches, 17.5x17.5x 12.5 to 44x40.5x40.5 cm
