Somewhere between longings (añoranzas/sodades) and the weight of memory, departures, journeys for fun, for self expression, prosperity, safety. Craving movement, to either digesting displacement or processing of movement itself, and its aftermath. THe change,curiosity, playful, necesary or painful explorations of the moment and the weight of the past, the uncertainty of the future. To wonder and try to grasp, to make sense, to understand, to confront, to learn, to ADAPT. The work in this category is work moved by that strangness, the bridge between emotional of physical places that are not fully understood, other than in contrast. Taking a subject and exploring it.
Imaginging a new configuration of the world, inventing one that has not existed before, creating /projecting in its most pure form, an idea, of whatever scale to become a tangible instance. PORTABILITY. Mapping.

Two cities: Amherst/Valparaíso

Installation on the store front windows at the FortGondo Compound for the Arts. Two 3x4 video monitors display a fifteen-minute loop. On one monitor there was the footage of the moon traveling across the Northern Hemisphere, recorded in the US. The second monitor had footage of the moon traveling across the Southern Hemisphere, recorded in Chile. The moon travels the sky from left to right and from right to left respectively. Two speakers, installed on the street, played the immigration regulations from the US embassy in Chile.
